These are some more images presented as a travelogue for friends and family.
I drove from the west coast to the east coast in Oct 2002. Most time spent driving, so
few photographs. the following is a chronology.

About the only stop I made on my way east. Half hour at dawn, at Badlands National Monument

I had two days "vacation", which I spent in the Adirondack Mountains of N.Y.
Unfortunately, both days were rainy and cloudy. No scenic photos, but
good for close ups.

Overcast days are actually best for working with color. low contrast,
thus the color really stands out.

NJ Beach
Mom really enjoyed seeing the Ocean again. She hadn't seen it for many years.
She didn't like me pointing the camera in her direction, so I photographed some tourists.

Chimney Rock
A significant landmark for the wagon trains on the Oregon trail.
Also signified
the end of the pleasaant prairie, and the begining of more desert like country.

In eastern Colorado. The new low speed turbines, which do not injure birds,
are becoming very popular.

Nevada. the ridge must of had a total of ~80 turbines. Nothing else around for
30 miles.

Pronghorn Antelope
In early morning one can find Antelope nearly everywhere in sagebrush country.
These happen to be in Nevada.

South Eastern Washington is land of rolling hills, converted to farm land.
Major food production area.
Folks there call themselves the "Inland Empire".

Snoqualimie Pass
As I hit the Cascade Mountain crest in mid Oct. , realized
that the rainy season had returned.
