Figure Studies

I enjoy working with the human form, usually in a gentle context, and as an accent in the wilderness.

. Sideways Glance
The soft lighting and whiteness of the eyes,
makes this an evocative image.

. Reaching
The spiral formed by the body really makes this image work

. "A." with rocks
This image is interesting since it counterpoints
the frailty of the figure with the Mass of the rocks.

Soft light helps make this a relaxing image

. Twins
Two similar models relaxing in slot canyon. The similarity of tones between skin and rocks is caused by the soft reflected light deep in a slot canyon.

A composite. The storm adds drama to the scene

. Guardians of Venus
Again from two negatives.
I love the trees protecting the figure in repose

. Lioness in her cave
in a canyon near Moab, UT

. By the Petroglyphs
I wish I could have included more of the petroglyphs,
but one step backwaard was 30 feet down

. Shenandoah Moonrise
This is actually a multible exposure, of B&W negatives,
onto color paper, with filters

. Softness of being
The diffuse light and near tone match of the skin and clay yields the softness of the image

. Sideways Glance (B&W)
A Black and white version

. Swoop
A 3 second exposure, with fan and motion

. Venus and the Moon
This was really shot at mid day, then printed to look like night.
THe moon and the Planet Venus were printed in from another image

. Venus in the Wind
Another 3 second exposure, but with flash also

. Lone Walker
The desolation of the landscape emphasizes the frailty of
the lone nude (unprotected) figure
