Montana had a few Aspen groves still in color. I enjoy these in that I was able to use
the yellow of leaves as the background.

Overview of Norris Gyser Basin. This is why the Native Americans
called it "Land of 10,000 smokes".
Same area, just before sunrise.The "clouds" are steam from
the guysers.

Spectrum of colors exist in the hot springs due to both mineral
deposits and various bacteria mats.

Even 10 years after the fire, some areas remain barren. The Fire
sterilized the dirt to depth of nearly a foot, thus removing any organic matter from it

Rutting season. This 6 point Elk was wearing himself out trying
to keep his harem of ~20 females together, and chasing off competition.

As soon as an animal is visible from the road, a crowd gathers,
and usually a traffic jam also.
Coyote; Had to photograph this guy through the windshield. As
soon as one gets out of car, they run off, fast. The re-introduction of wolves has cut
into the coyote population severely. They are becoming rare in yellowstone.
Saw one Pronghorn Antelope, but he wouldn't let me get close. was in a hurry
to get to the other side of the hill.
Buffalo are nearly everwhere, though total population about 25% of
what it was before the 1992? fires.They were getting to be a dangerous pest.
Buffalo are difficult to photograph. One can see how dark they are
compared with the landscape. Have yet to make a "good" image using them; one
that is more than "this is what buffalo look like".
Ground Squirrl. ( "chipmunks" have short tails)
This fellow found someone's dropped lunch; took 3 bites, then
