The simplicity of close up emphasises
the graphic element. I rejoice in it.
Rhythmn, pattern, shape, are the music of the world.

Edge of Dune
at Colorado Sand Dunes N.M.
To me; the image is the ultimate of
oriental thinking.
One brush stoke that defines the universe.
.
Raspberry Branch
Though thorny, can be gentle;
a play in light and form
.
Hole
in sandstone. Yes I put the twig there, as
a decorative element.

Of contemplation. The Double printing on the darkroom makes
this image a study in shape, design.

Man on porch
is an accent to a geometry study
I jokingly call this "Whistler's Father"

Field
of wheat stubble, rolling hills,
becomes an abstraction
.
Tulips
in a field,
but this is really a study of rhythm
.
John Day Flowers
at John Day Fossil Beds, Oregon; Painted Hills.
Dry country, but one year of every 3-4 there is enough rain
to sprout the flowers. Memorial Day weekend is best.
.
Zig - Zag
of dunes. Shooting with a telephoto lens compresses.
making this a play in edges.
.
Barrel
becomes a study in texture, color, line.
.
Red leaves
are the texture, the one yellow the accent.
(yes, I put it there)
.

The grass between the rows remained green
and created an interesting pattern of stripes.
.
Rock triangles
Abstracting using different tones, simplicity.
